Character Profile: Eve

Appearing at the very beginning, Eve was introduced in Harvest Moon in 1996.  The beautiful blonde granddaughter of the local hunter, Eve has been a bit of a femme fatale in all of the games she has appeared in. She is also believed to be the grandmother of Karen (and, in Harvest Moon 64, Cliff’s grandmother as well).

Despite her flirty appearance and personality, Eve actually deals with abandonment issues and self esteem, as she has no parents and therefor clings to her grandfather (and requires a lot of attention should the player hope to woo her).  Despite this she strives to be cheerful, is a romantic and loves to take care of others.

With pink eyes to compliment her blond hair that is worn in a ponytail, Eve’s appearance changes a bit from game to game, though she is always dressed in flirty, feminine apparel with plenty of jewelry.

Eve’s Game Appearances: 

Harvest Moon (1996): Eve makes her first appearance working at the local bar as a barmaid. Her grandfather is the local hunter and the bartender is something of a foster parent to her.  As is fitting for a barmaid, she is known for her love of wine and brews her own (when the game was released in North America it was censored so Eve’s love of wine became a love of juice).  She is the most mature of the player’s bride options but also the hardest to woo and keep happy once married.

Harvest Moon for Gameboy (1997): Eve makes her second appearance in the first hand-held Harvest Moon game.  She works at the bar and will sell stamina-recovering drinks.  The player is unable to marry in this game, meaning that Eve is not a potential bride.

Harvest Moon: Magical Melody (2005): Brought out of retirement eight years after her last appearance, Eve and the many other characters in her game set made their second console appearance in Magical Melody.  Many players of the game weren’t even aware that she had existed before. This time she works as a waitress at the local cafe owned by her uncle Duke.  Her grandfather is still the hunter, though he has finally been named Terry.  Eve is very concerned about her grandfather which is why she moved to Flowerbud Village.  As the player befriends her they will get to see the sad, lonely young lady behind her cheerful facade.  There is also a rival for Eve’s affections in this game, the wandering playboy Dan.
